RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort in the heart of Western Australia’s Shark Bay is a place where you can experience the mystical world of wild dolphins. A recognised natural beauty and World Heritage Landmark its accompanying absolute beachfront accommodation is a popular escape for visitors from around the world. Resort includes accommodation options for all travellers with a variety of rooms from luxury villas and motel style units to backpackers, caravan and camping. Resort accommodation is fresh and air-conditioned, with a modern design and range of features for optimum comfort including complimentary in house movies. On-site facilities include swimming pool, artesian spring hot tub, bar and restaurant, tennis and volleyball courts, free to access modern kitchen and barbecues which provide a friendly place with something to cater to all tastes. Located at Dolphin Beach, famous for its kilometres of secluded crystal blue waters and pristine white-shell beaches, Monkey Mia has attracted schools of dolphins to its tranquil shores daily for more than forty years. This dolphin interaction is known to be one of the most reliable meeting places for dolphins in the world. Dolphins have visited everyday in the last five years excluding only four times. It is the only place in Australia where dolphins visit daily, not seasonally, and costs nothing. RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort is currently undergoing an expansion and redevelopment with project completion expected in June 2018. These exciting changes will transform the resort, delivering an improved guest experience with several new facilities and accommodation options available. The safety and comfort of our guests is our foremost priority; hence we will be closing the caravan and camping sections of the Resort from 1 November 2017 until the end of June 2018. All cabins and rooms will remain open.

Set amongst all the natural beauty of the region, famous for its crystal blue waters, blue skies and sunshine 320 days a year. The Resort offers a variety of styles of accommodation from Superior Beach View Rooms, Garden View Rooms to modern Beach View Rooms, Family Studios, Backpacker accommodation, caravan park and camping ground.
It is also the worlds best and most reliable meeting place for friendly dolphins and an amazing collection of marine life. These dolphins have come to the beach for over 40 years. They are wild, native to the area and visit of their own accord up to three times per day where four adult female dolphins and their children swim in the shallows near the beach to be fed.
Generally, ten dolphins visit Monkey Mia although the record is 23 dolphins all turning up at once. The dolphins are widely loved and closely studied. Researchers from around the world come to Monkey Mia to study them.
The friendly dolphins are just the beginning? theres heaps to see and do catamaran cruises on the famous Shotover camel rides, kayaking, snorkeling, 4WD tours, aboriginal cultural walks, astronomy and dive tours, just to name a few. Enjoy the swimming pool, hot tub, tennis court, volleyball court or just lie back on the stunning beach and relax.
