Ladies Day at the Roebourne racecourse is the pinnacle of the social calendar in the region and every year the local women revel in the challenge of wearing their beautiful outfits in what many people call a harsh and challenging environment. The feature event of the Day is the City of Karratha Harding Cup over 1800m another race that has it past steeped in tradition. The Harding Cup race has its origins in the 1950’s and was a much coveted race for the local station owners to win with their Nor West bred horses.
